Iswardi explained that regulatory easing, especially through the PALN (Penyaluran Amanat Luar Negeri) framework, allows licensed brokers supervised by Bappebti, OJK and BI to channel orders to foreign exchanges. This has removed many barriers that previously made US share investing difficult for retail investors.
“With easier permission, we can see growth is higher now, from retail to institutional investors being able to invest in US stocks,” Iswardi said in a statement to CNBC Indonesia, Jumat, 25/09/2026. He added that the United States offers sectors not present in Indonesia, giving investors a chance to capture gains when those sectors boom.
Market volatility in Indonesia also drives diversification. “There, the index keeps rising 20‑30 %, while our market is minus. Banking stocks, which used to be the star, are still down, while there they keep soaring,” he noted. The difference makes US equities more attractive during domestic downturns.
