- TOBA receives Rp7.77 trillion investment from BlackRock’s HPS Investment Partners
- Funds will be used to expand waste collection, recycling and energy‑from‑waste operations across Asia
- Investment will be made via issuance of new preference shares to SBTH Asia Holdings Pte. Ltd.
- Cora Environment in Singapore processes about 360,000 tonnes of waste annually and produces 1.2 million tonnes of industrial steam
- In H1/2026 the group collected roughly 760,000 tonnes of waste and serves over 470,000 households and businesses
Integrated waste management model
TOBA’s waste management covers the full value chain, from waste collection and sorting to recycling, medical and industrial waste processing, and steam generation for industry, according to the company’s official website.
The investment will support organic growth and strategic acquisitions, enabling TOBA to scale its integrated model beyond waste‑to‑electricity projects, the firm said in a press release.
Expansion and analyst view
Analyst Leonardo Lijuwardi of NH Korindo Sekuritas highlighted that each stage of waste handling offers revenue potential, making integrated operations more stable than single‑project plants.
Cora Environment, acquired in Singapore, runs household, commercial and industrial waste collection, material recovery and an Energy‑from‑Waste plant that generates high‑pressure steam. The facility processes about 360,000 tonnes yearly and supplies roughly 1.2 million tonnes of steam to industrial customers on Jurong Island.
Asia Medical Enviro Services and PT Arah Environmental Indonesia further extend the group’s reach, handling medical, industrial and household waste across 15 provinces in Indonesia. Together they gathered around 760,000 tonnes in the first half of 2026, serving more than 470,000 households and businesses in Singapore.
TOBA has deliberately avoided Danantara’s waste‑to‑electricity initiative, focusing instead on a pan‑Asian integrated waste management network. The Rp7.77 trillion infusion is expected to strengthen that strategy, allowing the company to achieve economies of scale and improve long‑term profitability, Leonardo Lijuwardi added.
The capital raise positions TOBA to deepen its recurring revenue streams and broaden its operational footprint, supporting the company’s goal of becoming a leading regional waste‑management player.
